Hi everyone...
I bought two lovely Haviland Limoges shallow bowls (not sure if they're bowls, even?) at a garage sale today...and I can NOT identify the pattern or the age. The markings on the back are:
green under glaze: H & Co underlined with an L under
gold stamped over glaze: in a circle ~ Haviland & Co Limoges
Also, there is an L incised into the pottery before it was glazed
The plates are roughly 9" square, and each corner is "folded" back...making the plates almost octagonal.
The inside bottom of the bowls is embossed with a delicate pattern and something like a fern leaf is embossed extending from the edge into the bottom of the bowl. There is also an embossed design on all 4 outside flat edges of the bowl. The bowls are decorated on the rim with an ivy/holly design in gray and gold, and the folded corners have a very small ivy design over a speckeled background...all in gold (gold leaf?).
I can't find a picture of this pattern anywhere...and NOTHING with this shape.
How old? What pattern?
HELP!!!!!!!!!
