: Where I work they discovered some Haviland China and are selling in a silent auction. It is not a set but there are at least 8 small dinner plates, cups and saucers and fruit/sauce dishes. They have asked $45. I have just started to learn about Haviland China as I have inherited my mother-in-laws. I need an answer by Thursday at 3 pm.
Turn one of the plates over and look at the backmark. Does it say "Limoges"? Or "New York", or "Bavaria"? Does it have a name other than Haviland on it? Such as Theodore, George, Frank, or Johann? Then go to Ebay and search under Haviland in the pottery and glass section. Narrow your search to items containing the names you find on the backmark of this china. The results should give you an idea of the set's value.
